Alley Cat Academy Grappling

Back when I was more of a regular at the Alley Cat Academy, my local Jiu Jitsu club, I was asked to help out a friend of mine over at Brotherhood Health Performance

This is one of the shots that came from our little roll/photoshoot on a sunny morning. Featuring Josh and Andrew.

It was a difficult shoot, with small windows, and a dark room offering little light, yet fast action and explosive movements requiring a fast shutter speed. I had to dial the aperture right down as low as I could, and keep the camera as steady as possible – no easy feat whilst dodging the array of armbars and kimuras.
