Hidden in a ye-olde side street in Bath is an old fashioned fudge shop, where through the windows you can watch fudge being cooked, spread, cooled and cut, right before yours eyes. It was really interesting to see, and given that it was around Christmas time, a fudge and a hot chocolate were just what the doctor ordered.
On a side note, I remember being impressed with the table, on which the fudge was paddled. It was a 3 or 4 inch thick marble slab, laid on top of 5×5 or bigger slabs of wood. I bet that thing weighed a tonne.
